Brett Bolton - ACTIONS - (2024)

Actions is an audiovisual performance based around human interaction with a digital canvas. 

Throughout Actions I’ll be testing out new ways to create digital textures with my drums and touchpad movements.

Every song will feature a purposeful direct connection between my actions, the visuals, and the music.

Everything is played and rendered in realtime.

Brett Bolton - Phases - (2023 -2024)

In his audiovisual performance, Phases, Brett explores the various phases of matter, gradually transforming the screen behind him into solid, gaseous, liquid, and plasma states with a drum and XY controller.

Every drum hit and touchpad gesture has an immediate musical and visual reaction, constantly changing based on the current state of matter.

The music and visuals are both created 100% in real-time without timelines or click tracks, allowing each performance to be unique and spontaneous.

Brett Bolton - Radii (2020 - 2022)

Radii is an audiovisual performance by Brett Bolton centered around real-time projections on a drum.

Projected light transforms the surface of the drum into a series of vibrant, hit-responsive audiovisual instruments. These instruments are custom built by Brett to combine musical and visual elements into a single entity that compliments the natural gestures familiar with a drum surface.
